Freedom at Last – Day 216 (2009-11-19)
Well it’s been a big couple of days in our household. Yesterday we got a new member to the family who we are slowly integrating, something that is going to be a long agonising process.
Today after months of planning and saving we finally had the backyard enclosed with cat netting. This means the cats can at last go outside without harness and leads which had always worried me that they would get caught, or wrapped around their neck, now they are free to explore and run around and I have a whole new set of worries. The good thing is they can spend a lot more time outside.
Below is a couple of extra shots o f the new yard and the extras for the kitties including the log I retrieved from a neighbor, I’d like to find a bigger one they can use as a climbing/scratching post, but this one doubles as a step so its all good. Plus the cat hammock that is quite high and I had to lift Moo into but now she doesn’t want to come down. She can see across the valley from up there. All I need to do now is find a lawnmower and landscaper to make the area better for them.
The enclosure and hammock was installed by SecureaKat in Adelaide. I highly recommend them if you want to give your indoor cats the outdoor adventure.
